Juniper “June” is a kept-to-herself, introspective teen who experiences the world primarily through her imagination and poetry. She attributes characteristics to the world in the only way she knows how: unspoken words. She lives in her head, compartmentalizing the good from the bad, and retreating from the chaos of life.
Haileighn Gardener
Haileighn or “Hailei” is light personified, and radiant. She approaches life with a joy and a unique perspective. She is incredibly, sweet, empathetic, and puts others before hersellf. She is a painter, artist, and loves discovering new things.
Melina Wright
Melina is the middle child of the Wright bunch. She tends to take on the role of “mom.” She is an avid dancer, and allows her unspoken things to be infused through dance. She has a tendency to put others before herself to a fault, offers advice when she can, and is the ex-best friend of Devane, whom she shares the same birthday with. She is the glass child. She’s hard worker, top of her class, and beautiful, but tends to push herself beyond her limit.
Ryelyn Cassidy
Ryelyn is the half-sibling, and eldest of the Wright household. After a grulling hockey injury, and child of a messy divorce, ryelyn holds onto things without letting them go. He is incredibly protective of his sisters, finds peace in music, and friendship.
Devane Gardener
Devane is the other half of the Gardeners—Hailei’s older sister and childhood best friend of Melina. A dancer, she moves with grace, precision, and quiet confidence, but beneath her poised exterior, she struggles with self-doubt and high expectations she sets for herself. Loyal, perceptive, and deeply protective of the people she loves, she has a sharp wit and an instinct for reading others. She’s had meaningful relationships, including dating Ryelyn, which shaped her understanding of trust and intimacy. Even with her insecurities, Devane balances discipline and vulnerability, making her both magnetic and complex.
Vinnie Karter
Vinnie is the childhood best fried of Ryelyn. She enjoys reading, family, and from a difficult upbringing, she overcomes. She is a romantic, loves to sing, and enjoys making new friends.
